Womxn

"Womxn" is a powerful visual poem about sexual assault. 28 women of all different backgrounds gathered to perform the same text. Not only does this piece bring awareness to the staggering frequency of sexual assault against women, it explores why so many of us remain silent. Womxn illustrates how together we can begin to heal one another with our voices. Directed by Tara Lynn Rye and Magen Ashley Young (USA)

Notary

In this silent film, we have tried to capture the moments in between. The unsaid words and the open secret behind closed doors. A notary officer has been working in the same office for years. Something is not the same today, something has changed forever. His colleague of many years from the other desk shares the same feelings. They know its not a perfect world. They must be happy with how things are, not to disrupt their lives. The Secret

This is a socially-relevant short film, inspired by true events in the United States of America. The short revolves around a street-smart mother and how she trains her child to be aware of the darker side of society. The film begins with a man who is attempting to deliver a consignment to a demanding client on a tight deadline. It’s only in the pre-climax that it is revealed that his consignment is a little girl and that he is a child trafficker. The film ends with him being outsmarted by his target – the little girl – using a very simple but effective method, taught by her mother. What method is that? That’s the secret. Directed by Vishnuprasad Sasidharan (India)
