When a sick calf is given days to live at a dairy farm in Vermont, a determined woman enlists her burger-loving father to save “Mickey”. They embark on a road trip to a sanctuary in Maryland with the calf loaded in their car. What starts as a July 4th rescue mission becomes a three year journey as the family attempts to reunite Mickey with his mother amid a surprise birth and the dairy farmer’s girlfriend experiencing a change of heart. Along the way, Mickey builds a new home. Blending compassion with unexpected humor, this story is ultimately a celebration of family – of all shapes, sizes and species.
