Before the Next Step is a short drama film set during a Mid-Autumn Festival family dinner in Beijing. The story follows Leo, a Chinese student returning from overseas, who struggles between family expectations and his own identity. Through the metaphor of “standing a little longer,” the film explores how young people find their own rhythm and courage to move forward amidst social and familial pressures.
