Unlucky Lucky

Unlucky Lucky

Some people have all the luck.

“Unlucky Lucky” is a crime noir set in a black and white world of 70s Los Angeles. It follows the dysfunctional story of Lucky Levinson, a timid mob fixer that aspires to become a movie star and break away from his morbid lifestyle. The chance arrives when the latest Hollywood blockbuster opens auditions to the public sparking him to go to his criminal employer for a favor, but the mob boss sticks him with an ultimatum instead. If he can kill the famous down on his luck actor Chris Connoroy then he can have a chance at fame. Accompanied by legendary hit man Ace Cunningham, an unsure and detached Lucky learns the ropes of being a mercenary as he searches for the elusive actor and discovers that dreams are bigger than individuals. Shot exclusively on location, the narrative that unfolds is a true love letter to the scenic side of Culver City’s historic movie history and a proud achievement for all the filmmakers involved. The film begs the question, how far would you go for your dreams? And analyzes a morally ambiguous individual in how they come to terms with their current predicament using psychological elements, slapstick comedy and deep drama.
