Lines

Lines

You can color outside the lines. But please read between the lines. Blurred lines. Online. Down the line. A connection line. Hold the line. A borderline. Crossing the line. Waiting in line. Sniffing a line. Fishing line. Stretch across the equator line. A rein. Pipe water, gas & electricity line. A family line. Out of line. A cord, rope, wire, string line. Outline; contour; lineament. Along these lines… The black lines in a row inside an Olympic-sized pool – lane lines. Track lines on stadiums. And this is where we draw the line.

Exploring the symbolic interpretations of the word Lines, alongside modern-day expressions that reflect our societal norms and cultural paradigms, included those mentioned above, lead me to a profound revelation: aren’t we all trapped in an endless cycle of chasing our thoughts, participating in mindless competition, measuring ourselves against others and comparing our lives, pursuing arbitrary goals, yet rarely question who’s establishing these standards and what’s their purpose. Who’s running this race, why and ultimately where is it going?
