On average, around 84,000 emergency calls are made every day in Germany via landline and mobile phone. This means that the emergency number is dialled once every second. In 2023, there were a total of over 30 million emergency calls.
In 58% of cases, the emergency number is dialed for medical emergencies, 74% for fire-fighting emergencies. In 91% of cases, the number is dialed in life-threatening medical situations…and sometimes they are other type of emergencies…
“They Made Me Do It” by Adelfo Micieli is a german based psychological proof of concept short thriller about an emergency call from a woman reporting that she is hearing voices telling her to do things. The call becomes darker as the police officer tries to make sense of the situation.
