What do women on farms do after a hard day working on the land?
They get out the glue gun, the cable ties, the sewing machine, and create extraordinary garments to enter into the national Ag Art wear competition.
With its roots in New Zealand, the AG ART movement came to Australia in 2000 and was immediately a huge success and wowed crowds at regional field days across Australia.
“if you weren’t interested in tractors, you could come and see the fashion instead” Model for 10 parades
For over twenty years, women on farms across Australia have found creative expression through the Ag Art Movement. Feed bags, cattle tags, safety mesh and baling twine, even bones and sheep manure, materials used are limited only by the imagination of the designers. The Ag Art movement gives new meaning to ‘Haute Couture’.
AG FAB – From Paddock to catwalk, takes us behind the scenes of the last competition held at Elmore Field Days in Victoria Australia, and explores the legacy of its loss in rural communities.
