Alma Under the Rubble is a short animation film inspired by the true story of Alma, a 13-year-old Gazan girl, who is the only one to survive the bombing of her family’s home and call for help from under the rubble. The film captures a barbaric scene of an entire family that got buried under heavy Israeli bombing, imagines the family dynamics shorty before they died, offers a vivid perspective on this human tragedy while connecting it to one of the most powerful moments of a little girl’s heroism and triumph. Similar tragedies of the past are tucked in between the scenes.
