Here After

Here After

“Here After” follows the journey of Doa, a survivor of severe trauma, as she finds herself transported to an intermediary realm. Guided by a mysterious figure known as the Architect, Doa faces judgment and must make crucial decisions that will shape her fate. In this surreal, otherworldly setting, she undergoes a series of trials reminiscent of a Chondojae—a traditional Korean ritual for the deceased—imposed by a sinister force.

As Doa progresses through these stages, she confronts the darkness within herself, grappling with her past and her pain. Each trial brings her closer to a profound revelation and the ultimate confrontation with her inner demons. Her journey is a symbolic representation of the Buddhist concept of ‘Future’, one of the three times, signifying a new beginning and rebirth.

“Here After” is a powerful exploration of human resilience and the quest for healing, presenting a moving narrative of overcoming trauma and finding hope and empowerment. Through its blend of drama and fantasy, the film offers a poignant and culturally rich portrayal of one woman’s transformative journey towards inner peace and a brighter future.
