OUT

Subject: video clip: Song “OUT”.

by DANIEL MEGUELA
We are inside a prison, where we see a man who is about to be released after so many years in prison. A guard accompanies him “Outside” to freedom “25 years later”.
(This is where the song begins, where the images alternate with the singer Daniel, who will sing the verses of the song inside a cell and at the same time also next to our protagonist as if he were a projection of his consciousness
The world around him has obviously and totally changed. He begins his journey to freedom almost intimidated and dazed. People are frantic and upside down, he’s invisible to everyone.
Almost alienated from everything, he wanders around the city towards those places where he hopes to find something familiar but nothing, on the contrary, everything is different and those few people who notice him take him for a thief or a homeless person, obviously keeping their distance from him.
(Here we will highlight some mishaps that happened to our protagonist to emphasize the difficulty in reintegrating so quickly into society).
So he decides to go to the only place where he hopes to find some warmth and familiarity, his old home. When he arrived, his expectations were rewarded, little had changed, on the outside everything was very similar to how he had left it 25 years earlier.
His home seems to be waiting for him. But unfortunately, as he gets closer, he realizes that the house has been sold and who he hoped to find (his daughter) is elsewhere. He doesn’t even know where and where to start looking for it. He has nothing with him, he only had the hope that in an instant was stolen from him by the inevitable circumstances. Discouragement and fear take over.
For a moment he bends over like a warrior defeated by fate. The pain is visible in his face, desperately he walks towards the unknown finding himself in a short time in front of a sidewalk that overlooks a small beach where we find a deep blue sea.
The man, almost isolated from all those people who previously deceived or despised him, finds himself at a crossroads. Continue or yield. That longed-for freedom was not as sweet as he had dreamed of it.
his eyes full of sadness embrace a tremendous thought, leaving everything behind and embracing that deep sea, letting go in one last breath.

As he is about to take the decisive step, a soccer ball hits him waking him up from his torment, he turns around and sees a child of about 7/8 years old owner of the ball approaching him, our protagonist takes the ball and makes to return it when the child in thanking him without fear invites him to play with him.
That child, so small and pure, did not hesitate to consider him a human being and with his goodness and a sly smile he gave him back an identity in an instant.
The child inevitably reminds him of those short but intense days spent with his daughter on that same beach. The smile returns to his face for a moment. It’s a sign.
He exists and he cannot give in to pain, he must continue, now he is a free man. Free to start again.
(The child signifies purity untainted by fears and prejudices. What we need to teach young people, our children. Everyone in life must have a second chance without any difference.)
The video ends with the last verse sung by Daniel from his cell. After the last sentence of the song, Daniel will close the door of the cell
staying inside it and taking charge of the pains of our protagonist who is now free to start “Outside”
for our protagonist went all right in the end. But how many “Restarted” don’t have the same luck? And they are forced, having nothing left, to live a life of hardship or even go back to crime in order to survive.
In this, the state does not give many guarantees and in the video we want to highlight this dynamic to spur someone to do something for the so-called “Restarted”.
