In the metaverse realm known as Paradise, people can participate in social activities and more by simply flicking the holographic bracelet on their wrist. Gloria, after a selection process, decides to date Evan.
After their date, Gloria finds herself falling in love with him, but she struggles to discern whether her feelings are virtual or real. When Evan suggests they meet in reality, Gloria panics and hurriedly logs off. As a result, Gloria is punished and sent to the wasteland, where she unexpectedly awakens her own consciousness. She decides to return to the last place she met Evan in her memory and is surprised to find that Evan is also looking for her.
However, no matter how hard she tries, a barrier prevents Evan from seeing, hearing, or touching Gloria.
