Monotony is a film based on my experience as a high school sophomore student. The main character, played by Sophia Pugh, goes to school and does all her after-school activities, searching for her newfound purpose and reason for life. She does all these things without a break, and she has no idea why she’s doing them. She feels stuck doing the same thing over and over again. And by the end, she still doesn’t know why or what she’s doing.
Directed by Mia Denaé Brathwaite (USA)
