It’s Lily’s 16th birthday and she is sick and tired of her high school’s sexism. The rampant catcalling, the female dress code restrictions, and the toxic masculinity in her sports team all leave her exhausted and fatigued. On the day of her special day, Lily blows out the candle only for a “Freaky Friday”- like switch to happen. She wakes up to an opposite world of sorts. Now, the society around her doesn’t put down women, but men! Fondant is a wonderful look at the role of gender in our society today, and a beautiful story of how a high school girl manages to change how her school perceives gender.
