Forgotten Country: Relics of Agency

Forgotten Country: Relics of Agency

This experimental documentary is a visual essay of collaborative oral histories in dialogue with Alejandra’s drawings and animations that weave memory and tradition with music. The interviews were nostalgic conversations with Venezuelan immigrants about their experiences during the pandemic, which contrast with appropriated travel videos about Venezuela. Some of these immigrants crossed the border to Colombia, others made their way into Chile, and a few were able to fly to other countries looking for better opportunities.
