“Shuga” follows the story of Truth; a modern-day Robin Hood that operates outside of the law. He does this by providing the less fortunate with the same opportunities as the rich and privileged. Truth feels he and people like him are dealt a less than fair hand at life due to being born into an impoverished situation and having darker skin to boot. Needless to say, he decides to take matters into his own hands and things get peculiar for him as the audience gets left with an unexpected surprise.
