Frame of Mind

People of the Trans Community can experience both wide systemic injustices, as well as social microaggressions while expressing their gender identity. This devaluation of their humanity is bigoted and must be eradicated.

The goal of this film is to explore a spectrum of behavior that trans people may experience while in a familiar setting, where actions often speak louder than words. Through meeting with a group of trans men and women, I gained a sense of both the subtle and blaring microaggressions that many experiences in their daily lives. We also choose to celebrate, as they do, the resilience, sense of joy and perseverance that the trans community possesses.

Through the casts’ variety, we may see ourselves. In this, we may experience a reflection of our actions. We may better confront biases, diminish ignorance and champion our ability to treat others equally for the betterment of all.

The rich colors and elevated fashion serve to invite our audience to a delicate subject matter in an entertaining way, while raising awareness to ignite internal discussions and public dialogue.
